1848 Old Sacramento Embarcadero ushered the world into the California Gold Rush District. In Sacramento, enslaved human beings, "property" as legally defined in the US Constitution during the transition from Mexican to US Rule. Our California Supreme Court ruled on the status of people of African ancestry in Old Sacramento an open secret to include Slave Auction Block advertised in local new publications. 160th Juneteenth Anniversary and the City of Sacramento is still considering aligning with our Title 5 US Federal Holiday.
